Post Office Telephones History.

(SYF38F Circa 1974)

The Shed was built in November 1967 before being dispatched later in the month to the GPO workshops at Wembley. She was originally Dark Green with a 2000lb extended bollard capstan winch, a 4000lb centrally mounted bull winch and a four wheel brake locking mechanism.
(see GPO Tech)

After arrival at wembley she was then sent on to the regional depot at Oxford East, and allocated to High Wycombe. She then worked from High Wycombe until 73, around which time being repainted into the then new Golden Yellow livery. Then being sent to Aylesbury, where she stayed until sale in 1984 for £445.00 with all equipment.
(which i am assured is a good price for a ex Post Office Telephones land rover in those days)
